Rev. Robinson was presented the Innovators Award by the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church in Columbia, South Carolina, at the The Community Developers Program. The program was a 5-day national training event for community developers across the country, which included workshops and an awards ceremony.

Black Community Developers was featured in two articles about BCD in general and the family ties that have kept the organization going since 1981.

Deborah Bell, Director of Community Development, accepted Little Rock's PowerPlay Magazine PowerSurge award on behalf of BCD. The award recognizes individuals and organizations that have made an "extraordinary professional move that stands to have a significant impact on a community or industry."

The awards ceremony, held at the Peabody Hotel, was hosted by PowerPlay Magazine, a bi-monthly publication that offers information relevant to the African American community.

In addition, C.J. Duvall, Associate Pastor at Theressa Hoover Methodist Church, was honored by the magazine with the Pause Award, crafted around the PAUSE section of the magazine that emphasizes the unique work of groups and individuals who have made an extraordinary impact on the community in which they live or serve.
