"You shall be called the repair of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in"
Isaiah 58:12Welcome to the official site for Black Community Developers, Inc. We are a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to brightening the future of children and youth, and improving the quality of life for underserved, disadvantaged and at-risk families in metropolitan Arkansas and throughout the state.
BCD serves as a strong advocate for children, youth and families by supporting policies and programs that focus attention on their needs and foster positive solutions.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Rev. William H. Robinson and Deborah Bell, Director of Community Development, BCD is committed to meeting the many challenges faced by individuals every day in our community. Our fundamental mission has not changed over the past two decades:
Since 1981, BCD has operated in midtown Little Rock out of Hoover United Methodist Church. In order to sustain our mission and vision, we offer a variety of programs and services, ranging from a model day care program to a job training program.
We strongly believe that each of us must play a role to create conditions under which prosperity is is a basic right of passage for all. Our vision is built on the foundation that unites neighbors and friends, families and communities, businesses and organizations.
BCD is firmly committed to serving as a catalyst in low-income neighborhoods in order to meet the community's most urgent needs by:
- Enriching human potential
- Expanding the economic and community development infrastructure
- Strengthening educational resources
