Darryl Swinton Elected to FHLB Board
BCD Housing Director Darryl Swinton has been elected to the board of directors for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas. Beginning January 1st, Swinton will serve a four-year term as an independent director. FHLB is a cooperatively-owned wholesale bank that supports housing and economic development in several states including Arkansas. Swinton has worked with FHLB since 2004 as a member, Vice-Chair and Chairperson of the organization’s Advisory Council. The new position will give him the opportunity to continue to promote BCD and the programs it provides.
“I’m honored and blessed to have the opportunity,” said Swinton. “Having served on the Advisory Council of the bank for seven years has allowed me the opportunity to learn and work with some great people with the passion of improving the quality of life by providing decent, safe, and affordable housing.”
After graduating from college, Swinton intended to pursue a career in corporate banking. But, he said God had another plan for him—to work in community development with BCD. “Those who work in community development know that we do what we do because we have a passion for helping people and the communities in which we serve,” said Swinton.
